On November 2nd, 2022, 51WORLD signed a strategic partnership with SAMPAŞ HOLDING, Turkey’s leading smart city service provider, to develop smart city, smart campus, as well as other solutions together with 51WORLD's leading digital twin technology. Among which, 51WORLD’s digital twin PaaS platform-WDP (world developers’ platform) will play a big part.  

SAMPAŞ was established on February 7, 1981 in Adana, Turkey. Since its establishment, the company has given vertical support services & products in the ICT sector and the local government market respectively. SAMPAŞ is known as one of the first companies starting software development in municipal market in Turkey. And it is also Turkey’s first “Smart City” architect. SAMPAŞ aims to be a pioneer and guiding company in this sector by materializing “Smart Urban Transformation” projects, which is logical and without compromising social benefits to income and profit. 51WORLD has collaborated with SAMPAŞ long before the signing of the strategic agreement. The two parties have jointly built the city brain of Osmaniye in south Turkey, in which a digital twin of a 40 km² built-up area and a 3km² core area were created, empowering Osmaniye’s smart development in people's livelihood, public safety, and refined governance.

This project enables administrators to simulate, monitor, diagnose and manage the city through accurate status perception, real-time data analysis, model decision-making and intelligent execution, thus reducing the complexity and uncertainty in the closed-loop process of urban planning, designing, construction and management. It improves the allocation and operation of material, intellectual and information resources, and stimulates the endogenous development of the digital twin city.

The Osmaniye city brain is one of the pilot projects in Turkey. While building up the digital twin, 51WORLD has consistently adjusted and optimized as per the actual situation of the physical city. As a result, the project has achieved global perception in one center, fine governance in one system, and coordinated command on one platform. The implementation of the Osmaniye city brain takes the lead in applying digital twin technology in urban governance and helps Turkey in developing smart cities.

"New infrastructure" has caught on in Turkey as the government attaches great importance to the digital economy, and spares no efforts in promoting new infrastructure construction. Digital economy has thus become a hot spot of high-quality BRI cooperation between China and Turkey, which ushers in great opportunities for enterprises in both countries.
